I DIDN'T INTEND TO EMBARRASS SERWAA AMIHERE - INFORMATION MINISTER KOJO OPPONG NKRUMAH

 

minister for information and  the member of parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi constituency Kojo Oppong Nkrumah  was in the news last week following a controversial discussion he had with Serwaa  Amihere on her show on Ghone Television.

The conversation became a topical issue in the country after it appeared the minister had gone on the show purposefully to embarrass the beautiful presenter.On the said show, the host,Serwaa Amihere sought to find out from the minister if any sort of punishment was meted out to persons who misconducted themselves during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election. Instead of the usual straightforward answer given by most Guest on the show, the minister this time also inquired from her if she could tell him the committee’s recommended punishments being discussed, but to the shock of many, the host fumbled.

The aftermath of the show generated a lot of talk in the country especially on social media with many trolling the popular broadcast journalist for not preparing adequately before appearing on her show. There were recommendations for her to put in more effort into researching her topics for discussion just as she does her make up. 

Some days after the controversy, however, the minister who was on Joy prime morning show program monitored  revealed his unhappiness about how the whole issue panned out.”I did not intend to embarrass her” he said. The minister added that ,he spoke to Serwaa after the program and encouraged her to take the matter on stride and always focus on the next show.

The minister also revealed that he has always been a member of the ruling party (NPP) even during his days as a journalist.
